A SUCCESS STORY

Neodent’s story began in 1991, when Dr. Geninho Thomé, a dentist and doctor of implantology, began carrying out scientific studies on implant development using American know-how. His goal was to obtain materials of a quality similar to imported ones – the only option at the time – but at a more accessible cost.

In 1993, Dr. Geninho Thomé and Dr. Clemilda de Paula Thomé founded JJGC Indústria e Comércio de Materiais Dentários S/A, which began producing implants and tools for installing implants and prosthetics. The store and factory operated out of a modest building in the Mercês district in Curitiba, and the production area consisted of a single employee operating a conventional lathe and a milling machine.

In 1997, the production area, which by then consisted of nine employees and modern CNC lathes, was transferred to a rented unit in the Santa Felicidade district. In 1998, the company moved to its own headquarters in the same district and achieved another feat: its products were recognised by the Ministry of Health, becoming the first Brazilian company to receive this certification in the implant sector.

After being extended several times, the Neodent industrial site now occupies an area of roughly 12,000m² on a plot of 50,000m² and is equipped with cutting-edge technology and high-precision digital quality control, which ensure great potential for innovation and high capacity for product development in implantology. With more than 300 employees spread over three shifts, Neodent operates round the clock, producing more than 1,000 different items, including implants, prosthetic components and surgical tools.

However, you cannot measure Neodent’s success solely on its production capacity. Neodent has remained faithful to the same values since it was founded: technological progress, respect for human beings and socio-environmental responsibility, combining high technology with the innovative potential of its products.
